Douglas Sammons was selected as runner-up. Doug and Darrel are both in the Eighth Grade. GREENUP BARD'S DAUGHTER HAS FAMILY TALENT Jane Stuart, 14-year-old daughter of famed author Jesse Stuart of W-Hollow, near Riverton, has shown signs of following in her father's footsteps. The talented youngster has written a volume of poetry which has Just been published in pamphlet form by Landmark House at Bel Air, Maryland. The booklet is handsomely il- lustrated by Kate Lord. As publisher Russell Lord explains in a foreword, Jane gave the poems to her mother and father as a present last Christ- mas (1956), having written them while her father was recuperating from a serious heart attack. They are wonderful songs, born of the mountain stillness in a year of trial, the publisher writes. The 24 lyric verses deal with the people and places of her home, and show that she shares her father's intense feeling for the world of nature. We of Armco believe that our young people are facing a future that will present opportunities never before equalled in the history of our nation. Every day new frontiers are being opened in science, industry and education. The need for trained personnel has never been so great as it is today. Our schools will have provided you with an opportunity for some training. The measure of success you enjoy will depend largely upon your ambition and the advantage you take of the training you have been provided through our school systems.
