This year there were one upperclassman, one sophomore, four freshmen, and two eighth grade students who joined the club to gain the experience. The season was not as successful this year as it has been in the past, due to lack of experience. Bonnie Petro had been debating three years, but the others were beginners. Witli its excellent background, success can be forseen for this club in coming years. Wfe wish continued existence to this club and for the debaters we wish a carry-over of the worth-while things learned in debating into their lives. The topic for debate this vear was: Resolved: That our government should own and operate tht riilroids ol this countrx Grecntown Cwreentoxx n Greentown Greentown Grecntown Greentown Greentown Greentovn n Greentou n Greentovi n Greentovi n Creentoxx n DLBATI RS Ai 1 iiwifxrive Bonnie Saul Bonnie Petro ALTERNATES Mary I .inning Robert Buckley Affirmative Negative Negative Affirmatixe Affirmative Negative Afhrmative Negative Aflirmatne Negative Athrmatiie Ncgatix t COACH Nia LARI B WIIIIIKOIIOV DECISION DEBATES N cami Llaine Summers ohn Cannon anct Loman etro WON BY Ixokomo Negative Kokomo Union Affirmative Greentown Lebanon Affirmative Lebanon NON DECISION DLBATES Icbanon Negative Lebanon Ilwood Ncgatise Elwood Affirmatixc Wabash Nlegatne Wabash Afiirmativt Fairmount Negative Fairmount Affirmative Sweetser Negative Sweetser Afhrmatise f . He was at least seven feet tall topped by hair standing on end. One eye was where his eye should beg his mouth was where his nose should be. but I did not wait to locate his nose as he started my way. A fight with such a monster, I realized, would be futile. Immediate refuge in the house was a necessity. To my surprise, upon gaining the door, it was locked. In my haste I had forgot the night lock. Wligit to do! The terrible monster approached, stretching his gnarled hands in my direction. just as he grabbed me, I awakened. -Mifniuu.
