Daphine Pollard - Reporter James Drewry - President Barbara Beale - Secretary Dickie Parker - Treasurer Jonnie Seegers - Vice-President Zhe Senior Class Looking back over the last four years it seems a s if many exciting events hap¬ pened each year. We were led in our Senior year by James Drewry, President; Jonnie Seeg¬ ers, Vice President; Barbara Beale, Sec¬ retary; Dickie Parker, Treasurer; and Daphine Pollard, Reporter. As Seniors we worked hard and it seemed that there was something to do every minute . College Day was a very important event for us because more than ever we realized that soon we would be out of school and would be starting out on careers of our own. In February we went to Richmond to see the General Assembly in session. Later in the spring we went to New York. This was very exciting for us and we enjoyed it very much. As Seniors we had many privileges and the one we appreciated the most was being first in the lunch line. A very big event of our Senior year was when we gave ' ‘Henrietta the Eighth.” Another happy event was Senior Day. On this day we enjoyed teaching some of the classes and putting on a program for the student body.

Running the town for a day wasexcel- lent training for f u t u r e citizenship. We elected town officials from the members of the Senior Class, and they ran Emporia for a day. The Junior Class gave us a very ex¬ citing Junior-Senior Prom, Hawaiian Cruise. We returned the fa vor by enter¬ taining the Juniors at a picnic at the end of school. Bunny Johnston made a very capable President of the S.C. A.and we shall nev¬ er forget how hard Nancy Barnes and Dickie Parker worked as Editor-in-Chief and Assistant Editor of our annual. Our Junior year was very successfu l. I am sure no one will everforget our min¬ strel and the many other projects we had to raise money for the Junior-Senior Prom, April in Paris. Another excit¬ ing event that year was when we ordered our class rings. Our officers were Bunny Johnston, President; Dickie Parker, Vice President; Daphine Pollard , Secretary; James Drewry, Treasurer; and Jane Ruth Thorpe, Reporter. We chose Frances Phelps and Peggy Poole for our homecoming representa¬ tives . In the second year we elected Bart Rainey, President; Bunny Johnston, Vice President; Jane Ruth Thorpe, Secretary; Bobby Faison, Treasurer; and Jonnie Seegers , Reporter . Our homecoming representatives were Eloise Harris and Franees Phelps. SENIOR SPONSORS Miss Trixie Johnson and Miss Lucy Davi For our first year in high school we chose James Drewry for our President, Bunny Johnston for Vice President, Fran¬ ces Phelps for Secretary, Norman Seifert for Treasurer and Betsy Harding for Re¬ porter . On May 15, we had a Cotton Ball. We chose Eloise Harris and Marilyn Frye for our homecoming representatives. The four years of our high school life have gone by rapidly and although we were discouraged sometimes, we know that it was well worth the effort for at the end is a pot of gold greater than you can find anywhere; a high school diploma. Now we are ready to give our best to the world.
