FOREWORD Lest we forget these memorable days. Day s in which we fir st began to understand the mean¬ ing of friendship and cooperation; days in which we gained for our selves the satisfaction of achiev¬ ed knowledge; days in which our loses were few, our gains many. We are nearing the turning point of our lives. Beyond this point lies the future and the realities of life which each of us, separately, must face. Not only will this year mark a change in our way of life, but it will also change the course of Greenville County High School. No longer will this building be known to high school students as their source of high school knowledge. As the class of ' 53 is the last senior class to graduate from the old high school building, our purpose in publishing this book is to preserve in our memory, the aims and ideals of our Senior Class-Lest We Forget! • • » • « • » • » • •

It is with a deep sense of appreciation and grati¬ tude that we, the Senior Class of 1953, dedicate the Riparian to our principal, Mr. Andrew G. Wright. Mr. Wright has given us his continuous assistance and guidance in securing our high school education. He has proven himself to be not only an outstanding leader but a worthy friend as well.
