SUPERINTENDENT Mr. Gerald Alexander, in his seven years as Superin- tendent of tjreensbnrg's City Schools, has watched the education scene talte on a new appearance with four new buildings. llis creditable background includes receiving an A.l3. degree from Wabash, 1,1 MA, degree from Indiana University, and he has completed all courses for his Doctorate from Indiana University. Mr. Alexander has the following words for the seniors: Our hope is to bask in memory's sunshine of an illustrious teaching career by sharing secretly--and in a sort of reflected glory--the triumphs and worthy successes of our former pupils. ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT Aside from teaching physics and advanced mathe- matics, Mr. Melvin lledge holds the important position of assistant to the superintendent. ln this capacity he aids in school administration and co-ordinzites the school lunch program. Prior to his appointment of Assistant Superintendent in 1957, Mr. lledge was assistant principal for one year. Before coming to Greensburg his career was that of being a high school teacher, principal, coach, and instructor of a Navy Aviation Program during World War Il. A very proficient man, Mr. lledge will long bc remembered by the graduating seniors. 5,-I 'Quan-fi g,.4K ASSISTA PRINCIPAL Along with serving as Assistant Principal, Mr. Loren Garner helps in co-ordinating school activities and teaches two classes of mathe- matics and one of biology. Mr. Garner, who came to Greens- burg in 1939, assumed his duties as Assistant Principal of Greensburg Community lligh School in 1957. llis background consists of being principal of elementary, junior high, and consolidated schools in Greensburg and various other parts of Indiana. PRINCIPAL Mr, Floyd Davis has had llllllfll ex- perience working in school systelns and has used it as a tool to guide students wisely. Before coming to Greensburg, he taught civics and coached for I5 years in Decatur and llendricks Counties. As a basis for his career, Mr. Davis earned his All. degree in 1927 and M.S. degree in 1942 both from Butler University. Mr, Davis became Acting Princi- pal in l95O and the following year started his career as Principal of Greensburg Community lligh School. Ile has served in this capacity for nine years.
