Mr. Alexander Being very concerned with the future of young people, Mr. Gerald Alexander, Superintendent of Greensburg's City Schools, has done much to improve the educational system in Greensburg, Mr. Alexander received his A.B. degree from indiana University. Prior to l95l, when Mr. Alexander accepted the position of Superintendent, he served as a teacher and principal in various Parke County Schools. He was Superintendent of Schools at Washington, Indiana from I943 to l946 and served in the same capacity at Crawfordsville from i946 to l95O. Mr. Hedge Serving as an able assistant to the Superintendent is Mr. Melvin Hedge. He served as Assistant Principal during the i956-57 school year and became Assistant Superintendent when the office was established in l957. His many duties in this capacity are supplemented by teaching Science and Mathematics. Board of Education The School Board of Greensburg Community Schools was particularly active this year as it played an important part in the school building program. Members and officers of the Board include: Mr. Louis V. Ricke, President, Mr. Oscar A. Hurt, Secretary, Mr. W. Lowell Headlee, Treasurer, Mr. Arthur M. Lynch, and Mr, James C. McLaughlin, Members.
