They were high steppers at the Halloween and Christmas Parades and gave unique shows at four G.H.S. grid battles. They also played at all home basketball games and produced attractive half-time shows with the twirlers. Highlights of the season were the Christmas and Spring Concerts, National Music Week Concert, Indiana University Band Day, a Chamber of Commerce parade in Columbus, participation in the solo and ensemble con- test at Hanover, and the band contest at Franklin College. Twenty-live selected members of the band attended the Good Neighbor Band Festival in Columbus. The Pep Band, a small group from the original band, plays at all pep sessions. They also play for many civic activities as Well as other school events. The officers elected at the beginning of the year were Judy Roszell, presidentg Misty Fogg, vice-presidentg Ann Levenstein, secretaryg Marvin Colee, treasurerg and Ivan Nading, manager. The Rising Sun is our emblem: My Sunshine Girl is the song: a yellow rose is our flower, the yellow rose carries out the colors of yellow and white, and every good Sunshine member always remembers her motto Others.,' They strive to spread sunshine and good cheer throughout the school and community. Highlights of the year include Freshmen Picnic, Initiation, Cheer Week, Tag Day, Preparation of Thanksgiving Baskets for needy homes, Christmas Party for underprivileged children, Mother and Daughter Tea. and Senior Banquet.
