TIHIIE TUWER TREE The Class Prophecy Uh huh' What a headache I had So I chased myself down to the doctor to get a prll My head was worse when I got home Then and there I decrded to take three tablets rnstead of one For why wouldnt three prlls get your headache rn one thrrd the trme rt takes for one? I grew drowsy lyawn' yawnll and drowsrer Why drd I take all that medr crne and tsnorell And then thrngs began to clear up Why I was rn a strange land' As I went amblrng down the road I saw a brllboard wrth somethrng about the 1960 model mosqurto catcher recently perfected by Harold Sparks on rt Was lt 19609 Where was I9 When drd Sparks start catchrng the poor lrttle defenseless mosqu1to'P Ponderrng these thrngs I suddenly met a man wrth a long and flowmg beard upon whose brow I detected a famrlrar scholarly appearance I finally drscov ered rt was Alfred Scrrpture who rn formed me that he was a gurde of the erty loomrng up rn the drstance I hrre town sard I On the way to the crty he confirmed my fears that rt was 1960 Soon we ame to a prosperous farmhouse I was rn formed that John May was tryrng to make some of hrs debatable theorres whrch he used to argue about work on hrs farm And Betty Transou drsgursed as a French mard was managrng the ranch house and budget Alongsrde the farm was a large penal lrke rnstrtutron Whats that'J I quer re Why that s Jrm Flemrng s grrls school Mr Flemrng rs the superrntendent and a strrct one too What a shock' What a shock' And then Clrpety clrp' Clrpety clrp' Stanton Shrrk came tearrng by astrrd a noble charger Who da thought Stan ton would turn out to be a Jockey'f On the left srde of the road I beheld another large burldrng Thats Betty Stevenson s home for old cats rnformed my gurde At that I passed out out of that nerghborhood As We neared the crty we came to r rillrng statron for arrp'anes Knowmg that Fred Corbett loved to drg around rn th rnsrdes of thrngs I was not surp rsed to find hrm a mechanrc Alonzo Harde beck was operatrng an arr hose He must st1ll lrke to blow about thrnes And Cath er ne Lanham who lrved rn a nearby cot tage served doughnuts whrch she her self had made to hllrng statron cus tomers Havrng obtarned our frll of the dough nuts rn a lrttle brt w hurrred on past a large factory wh ch made synthetrc han It seems Wrllram McLaughl1n found that thrs harr could b made from orn srlks so Thelma Salter was profitrng on th rdea by operatrng the factory Harold Conoway rs the foreman and he makes everyone hop rncludrng Kathryn Seher er who rs chref wrg tryer on sard the gurde Not desrrrng wrgs at that moment we walked on and soon met James Morgan who trred to persuade me to buy some l mon extract and rf not that at least some shampoo soap I flatly turned hrm down and asked hrm what he thought salesman for the S I S Company owned and operated by Shrrver Ingels and Smms whrch manufactures eyerythrnv from flea soap to rockrng horses Argel runs the suds drvrsron Lourse the horse department and John has charge of the manufacture of curlrng rrons sard Mr Morgan Do you know where any others of our class are?
