Raymond I-lennett, eco nomics instructor and debate coach was selected to advise and guide the juniors in their class affairs. A neat sum has been collected in the sea chest from selling candy at games, holly wreaths during the Yule season, and sponsoring a food market. The object of all this financial activ- ity was to treat the seniors with a grand Junior Prom and still have some pecuniary resources left in the IUNICRS -4F q v class chest to help finance a X ealbook for the glddlldtth oi 1939. Now they are finishing a prosper- ous year with a quick catch of the breath and a fluttering sigh realizing the short time they have left on board -just time in vu hich to see one more cycle of assembles and bisket- ball games one more Honor D xy and another Junior Prom. In the three years the seeond mates have been in our crew, they have gained a prac- ticed and weathered eye: they have become bold sailors ready to take the seniors' places as iirst mates. a f.Q l25l

Now that they have their sea legs, they can settle down to the last years of their voy- age. No more are they hindered by those characteristic blunders which inexperienced seamen invariably make. From now on, all will be full speed ahead. Full of small airs of self conscious sophistication, they pressed on undaunted, supremely sure of themselves. Vim. vigor, and vitality are personified by them. They have served their appren- ticeship with enthusiasm and have made rapid strides toward their goal of being officers of the deck, and have the privilege of looking back over two years' successful cruise along their charted course.
