They have been constant sources of inspiration and guidance to us all, and have given of their valuable time to direct us onto the right roads of life. Coach Dickson is a personal friend of the entire student body and faculty and does more than his share; going way beyond the call of duty to help everyone. His work with our basketball team led Greensboro to many victories and it gained respect for Greensboro High School throughout the entire district. We sincerely wish him a speedy recovery. It is an honor to pay tribute to Mrs. Jo Macon who has become such a genuine part of Greensboro High School since 1957. Her interest in all the students and her eagerness to help them have endeared her to all who have 2 come under her influence. The first three days were exciting because we didn't have to work, just play with the toys on our desks. We also made many lasting friendships. Also, this year, we learned to read and write. Sandra Howell joined us in the middle of the year. In the second grade we learned the alphabet form memory. We also took up a new subject, Arithmetic. We started reading hard-back books. Boy! did we think we were grown. Wanda Forbes and Carol Bowen joined us during the year. The third grade brought big excitement. We learned discipline and script writing. Mrs. Shepard had steel nerves to put up with us. This year we learned our multiplication tables. We were joined this year by Bobby Smith, Jimmy and Jesse Dean. Mrs. Carl Smith was our fourth grade teacher. She taught us short and long division. She also let us put up bulletin boards for our class. The fifth grade was quite exciting. Mrs. Lala Pearl Clower met us at the door. We really learned a lot. She kept everyone quiet, including the boys in the bathroom. The room was always clean, too, because some unfortunate girls had the pleasure of staying in and cleaning it up. We really enjoyed her little bell that didn't work because she threw it so much. Mrs. Eloise Davis was our sixth grade teacher. She sure was sweet. She was one of our favorite teachers. This year we started taking P.E. Sure was fun, but we still missed our play period. The seventh grade was a real experience! We changed classes, got lost, got in the way and didn't learn a thing. Mr. George Marcus was our homeroom teacher. He told some corny jokes that year and I hear he is still telling them. Clinton Hobbs and Frances Shepard became members of our class that year. Mrs. Shirley Clark was our homeroom teacher as well as our Home Ec. teacher in the eighth grade for the first semester. Mrs. Benda substituted for her the second semester. We must have been terrible because Mrs. Benda is now living in Hawaii. In the ninth grade, Mrs. Mary Fletcher was our homeroom teacher and English teacher. She was real sweet and calm. With us, that sort of thing doesn't work. I guess she knew what she was going though. Kathleen Jemison joined us that year. Mr. Jones was our tenth grade homeroom teacher and Band teacher. We must have been terrible because he moved to Alabama the next year. We were just too much for him. Ethel Holton, Joe Glover and Bob Brown joined our merry class then. The eleventh grade was thrilling. We had three English teachers that year. None of them could stand us. Mrs. Fletcher stayed four six weeks periods, Mrs. Smith, six weeks and Mrs. Clark for the rest of the year. Mrs. Clark was also our homeroom teacher. Jimmy Dean joined us again at the first of the year. We had a Talent Show and found that we have talented people in our class. After twelve long years, we finally have the teachers trained and we must leave. The journey has been long. We have experienced good and bad times, sad and happy times, but we always seemed to pull through with the teachers help. Thank you, teachers, for helping us on our way. We truly appreciate it. 60 61 PROPHECY TIME: July, 1975 PLACE: Fountain Bleau Hotel in Miami Beach So! Reunion time is here and look, there on the patio, is it, yes, yen, it ls--Robert Clark, Robert is a foreign diplomat, now. I understand he got his college education in Rome (Georgia, that is ). Who is that swimming toward us? It’s Elizabeth Suber, winner of the 100 meter swim in the 1975 Olympics, that were held in Russia. Someone's at the other end of the pool, drowning. Well, I'll be, it's Greensboro's well renowned coach--Clinton Hobbs! And that's Wanda Rowan Hobbs jumping up and down by the pool yelling, Clinton, you stop your fooling around down there and come take care of little 6’6 ) Clint. That woman getting out of the taxi looks familiar. I knew it, it's Dale Fletcher, press agent for The Beatles, but who’s that she has on a leash? Oh no! It's Ringo! Miracles WILL happen. Look on the other side of the pool, it's Marjorie Dean, accountant for Macy’s department Store. She tells us that Roger just would not let Margaret come. Mrs. Charles Hinsey (Ellie Sue Goodwin) is with Marjorie. Ellie Sue is the slave driver at Southern Wires. Here comes Tom (Terrific) Rogers. Tom is the top designer of topless bathing suits. Talk about miracles--therc’s the newest singing sensation and from America at that, they are none other than our own Larry Yeomans, Bobby Smith, Russell Revels, AND Linda Shepard. It looks like Frances Shepard coming toward us. She is the boss’ secretary at Frosty Morn. Coming from the restaurant is Marie Alday. Marie is a volleyball coach in the Marines. Kathy Jemison is emerging from the pool in a Tom Rogers Original. Kathy is a teacher at Greensboro High, those poor kids. Someone tripped over little Clint. It was Ethel Holton, poor girl, she developed a trick knee while working as a fruit picker. And there's the newest movie star, adorable Diane Stone. She used to be so shy back at school, well, guess everyone changes! « - VALEDICTORIAN SALUTATORIAN WANDA ROWAN (OTTO: WHATEVER MISHAP BEFALLS YOU, IT IS ON ACCOUNT OF SOMETHING WHICH YOU HAVE DONE.
