GREENSBORO HIGH SCHOOL GREENSBORO, FLORIDA Annual Staff One of the best principal's in Gadsden County's School system is Mr. C. H. Richardson, who has been Principal of the Greensboro Publi Schools since 1953. Mr. Richardson is a personal friend of the entire student body and faculty and does more than his share; going way beyond the call of duty to help everyone. His work is a distinct pleasure to himself and he has given of himself that we and the many students before us might face life better equipped, more assured, and capable. It is with deepest appreciation and sincere gratitude that we, the Senior Class of 1962, dedicate this annual to our Principal, Mr. C. H. Richardson. By the end of the first year, the foundation of our knowledge was beginning to emerge. Mrs. Rowan straightened us out about time in the second grade. We really felt big when we learned after three wasn't 3:25. Mrs. Shepard boosted our moral in the third grade with the ruler. That year printing became elementary, as we were taught real writing. The fourth grade proved to be a headache to Mrs. Smith as she tried to teach us simple multiplication and division. Virginia Pace and Lynn Earnest joined our happy group in the fifth grade. Mr. Dunnavant and Mr. Ferrell, our intern, took us to the Florida Caverns in Marianna. In the sixth grade, we all looked forward to afternoon reading time, when Mrs. Richardson patiently read page after page in our favorite books. This is when Barbara Alday joined us. Our first year in Jr. High proved to be our most confusing as changing classes and Mr. Marcus were both brand new to us. Our Science class, under Miss Simmons seemed to be the joy of the day as we were constantly aggravating her. Mr. Marcus was always telling us, Throw your gum away. It isn't nice to chew gum unless everyone has some. One day one of our classmates brought enough gum for the whole class and it really surprised Mr. Marcus. Mrs. Brandon was our new homeroom teacher in the eighth grade. Carolyn Gowan joined our class this year. Several of us became members of the marching band this year also. We were anxious to be moved from the ninth grade homeroom because we were afraid the furnace under us would blow up. Since we were learning about government and citizenship this year Mr. Boynton took us to a trial in Quincy. Mrs. Fletcher had the honor of being our homeroom teacher. In our Sophomore year we were joined by Christine Ventry and Carolyn Bundy. Mr. Hartzog, our homeroom teacher, must have been disgusted with us because he entered religious work after leaving us. Our Jr. year was full of many exciting events, one of which was our Jr.-Sr. Trip to Daytona Beach. We really worked hard for it. Our Jr. play Two Girls and a Ghost, was a struggle at first but, proved a success in the end. Mr. Carpenter was our sponsor this year. Many of our classmates gave up school for matrimony. We started off our Senior year with fourteen but, now have twelve. We were sponsored by Mr. Betts. The annual was our main project. We thank Mrs. Toole for the help. We are looking toward graduation with a happy but sad feeling of departure. Lynn and Virginia represented us in the Tobacco Festival this year. Also, the Homecoming Contestants were Lynn Earnest and Ann Clark. Friendliest Cutiest Most Bashful PROPHECY OCCASION--Seniors of '62 reunion TIME--New Year's Eve PLACE--Bulldog Plaza Hotel Bill Suber, owner of Bulldog Plaza Hotel is making last minutes arrangements for the reunion. The first of the Seniors to arrive is Ann Clark, who always liked to be on time for things. Ann is presently teaching at Tift College. After graduating, she realized how much she loved it there so she decided to stay and teach. A taxi just arrived in front of the hotel from the airport. Alighting from the taxi is a very distinguished class mate, Miss Sandra Gould. She is the chief Juvenile Judge of New York City. She gets so wrapped up in her cases, she has no time in her life for romance. Michael Shepard just rolled up in his 1968 Corvette. He is the owner of Mike's Drag Strip and Race Shop in Flatcreek, two blocks east of the Baptist Church. Carolyn Bundy just stepped into the lobby. As might be expected, we hear a familiar giggle; Carolyn has just completed nurse training and is ready for her first assignment. The sad part about it all is that she is terrified at the sight of blood. The entertainment for the evening will be provided by Miss Lynn Earnest. She is planning to present one of her night club acts. She still hasn't persuaded one of her many boyfriends to marry her. A telegram arrived at the hotel from Miss Virginia Pace. She says, after finding out that Robert has a wooden heart, she agreed to blast off for the moon as scheduled, tonight at midnight. The next guest to arrive is Barbara Alday. Barbara is an Airline Stewardess. She is going to be married in December to the Co-Pilot of a DC--7. Carolyn Gowan is a physical education teacher in Greensboro. She took over Mrs. Coggin's place. Her girls' volleyball team won first place in the district tournament. Late as usual comes Almeta Edwards, she is an instructor in a gymnasium for losing weight. Almeta has lost 10 pounds since she started working there. Here comes Dale Suber with 7 Brats from the orphanage she now owns and operates. She has always loved kids. Our last classmate to arrive is none other than Patricia Fletcher. Patricia, what can I do about my income tax, I forgot to file a return last year, plaase help me. Patricia, get it straightened out and send it off. It is now January 2, 1969, Bill is moaning and groaning over the damages done to his hotel during the Reunion. n F. H. A.
