By a strange coinsidence Gary Bryant had ventured off to a planet in Outer Space called X-453627890 and had become dictator. Gary decided that he would ask the senior class of 1961 to meet there for a reunion. Landing there we found it very strange and different. The first person we met was Billy Proctor, Gary's mechanical engineer and Robert Sellers. Robert has become a great architect. He designed Dictator Gary's Mansion. Gary was there with his wife, the former Miss Betty Ann Potter to greet us. We were surprised to see Joe Miller standing by Gary to announce each and every one of us. Joe had become the mouth piece for Gary. High stepping from the rocketship which we had made our journey in was Mr. Mrs. Albert Mercer. Mrs. Mercer was the former Miss Sue Suber. Sue had become a very successful English teacher and uses Mrs. Fletcher's methods of teaching. Albert has become one of America's greatest scientist. He seems very disturbed about visiting an outer space planet. Pat Edwards is following Albert and Sue. She is just as beautiful as ever and is still looking for someone. Pat has become a well trained nurse ail dressed up in white. Oops look who Pat's dragging behind her, Con Fletcher, the greatest mechanical engineer on earth. Better watch out Con or Pat will have you in front of an altar. Floyd Pitts and Estes Hampton are gabbing away like no body's business. Floyd has become a very successful business man owner of a truck line and Estes is his best driver. Just look at Durwood Suber. He surely has changed since he has become a professional ball player. Look at our comedian Patsy Barr. She always has people laughing no matter where she is. She has become a very good English Teacher and she keeps her class laughing all the time. Quite different from our English Class. What next. Oh, my goodness there's Floyd Marlow. He's hoping some of the animals here will be sick. Since he has become a very successful veterinarian and wants to practice on animals from other planets. Stepping down now we see Mr. Mrs. Donald Nicholson and their four daughters. Mrs. Nicholson is the former Miss Rosa Lee Dickey. She has become an airline stewardess and mother. You can bet she has her hands full. We were surprised to see Bradley Suber Bill Blocker here. They just don't seem to have time for anything since they became jet pilots. Who in the world is that arguing? My goodness! It's Chris Bedenbaugh and Ronald Butler. Every since they've finished college, they've been fussing about who was the best farmer. They both have good crops, and a nice size farm. Seems like they would get tired one day. All you single fellows better watch out! Connie Brinson is still on the prowl. All the many men she has met since she became a stewardess and she's still single. Do you think she'll ever get one ? My goodness gracious wonder who Carol Sue Bowen is here to defend? Do you think Betty Ann is sueing for a divorce? Carol Sue is the best lawyer she could get. Good Luck Betty Ann! Watch the door now. Betty Sue Smith is right there you might know. After ail her hard work she has become a psychiatrist and from the high pressure of space travel, it looks like she might have plenty of clients. 20 CLASS HISTORY It has often been remarked that history has a peculiar way of repeating itself, and so to a certain extent the history of this class is much like the history of classes which have gone before, and of others which will follow. So remembering that to many people, history is a rather dull subject except to these who have taken part in it personally, the historian of the Class of 1961 will strive to be as brief as possible, and to touch only upon those subjects which are of significence not only to this class but to others also. In the first grade one teacher couldn't take all of us, so we were divided between Mrs. Green and Mrs. Bruner. Everyday after lunch we lay down on our towels and took our naps. Mrs. Rowan, Mrs. Crosby, and Mrs. Bruner taught us to count this year. They had quite a task doing this. Mrs. Shepard and Mrs. Bruner started trying to teach us out multiplication tables. Albert Mercer joined us this year. This is the year Mrs. Larkin and Mrs. Smith took us on a tour of Florida and tried to teach us the history of it. This was the first year we were all together and Mr. Dunnavant had a rough time keeping us under control. We always looked forward to the stories that Mrs. Richardson read to us each day after lunch this year. We thought we were pretty big this year under Mr. Marcus, but Miss Mildred Smith kept us in line with her Math feasts (tests). Robert Sellars, Floyd Marlow, and Chris Bedenbaugh joined us this year. We will never forget Miss Amelia Simmons, our homeroom teacher this year. The first day she read the whole book of Jona for the devotional. Rosa Lee Dickey and Bill Blocker joined us this year. Mr. Shouppe had to be our homeroom teacher and try to force a little Math in our heads. We finally started getting credits, (trying to get credits) this year. Mr. Hartzog had the pleasure of keeping us this year. Also to be remembered are the rides in Miss Sturgeon's convertible. Mr. Boynton left after a hair-raising year with us. We asked Mr. Richardson at least twenty times a day when we were waiting on our rings. Our Junior play was a western entitled The Mystery of Crazy Canyon Ranch, and it was directed by Mrs. Fletcher. Mr. Monds, our Senior class sponsor, is still trying to recover from the first month with us. Mrs. Richardson lost a few pounds and gained a few gray hairs after the direction of our Senior play, Girl from Outer Space. The curtain is going down on the history of the Class of 1961, but in reality the Big Parade is just commencing. The bugle calls --forward march! 21 LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the class of 1961, being of unsound mind and disintegrating memory after four strenuous years, do hereby make, publish and declare this as our last and best will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills, bequests, and devises of whatever nature by us already made, 1, Patsy Barr will my ability to drive a tractor to Donna Smith, I, Ronald Butler will my ability to sleep in English Class to Steve Clark, I, Con Fletcher will my ability to wear spotted, worn out blue jeans to school on Ladies and Gentlemens day to Buddy Maxwell.
