“Class History It was a bright sunny morning in September of 1947, when a group of happy kids were met at the first grade door by Mrs. Floyd Green. Thirty-six students started the long journey with us. Mrs. Green had the pleasure of teaching us our A B C's. Mrs. Rowan met us at the door of the second grade with the Spelling and Arithmetic books. Mrs. Marco Shepard had to contend with us in the third grade. We were well behaved this year. She knew how to use the ruler to make us understand. Mrs. Boyd was our victim in the fourth grade. We kept her going round and round in circles trying to keep us quiet. Mrs. Dorwin Peer was our teacher in the fifth grade. We learned to spell the forty-eight states. Mr. Nathan Johnson taught us our states and capitols in the sixth grade. Mr. Marcus ruled supreme in the seventh grade. This was our first year of changing classes. We thought we were something. Mr. Monds was our teacher in the eigl ;h grade. He survived the year with us to later teach us again. Mr. Shouppe was our teacher in the ninth grade. We still don't understand how he managed to last a year. Mr. Hartzog had to worry about us in the tenth grade, although, he probably wished he had been in the band room when he had to listen to us. Miss Mary Allen came back this year and became Mrs. Reno Fletcher and also our eleventh grade teacher. She helped us select our Junior play, Aunt Tillie Goes to Town. We also ordered our rings this year. Mr. Monds was the one who had to listen to our complaints during our Senior year. And, there were plenty of them. Our Senior play was entitled, Professor, How Could You.
