Marty, Nancy. Nancy. S Ann Ivey ' s week usually begins with thoughts of get ting the COLLEGIAN organized and off to press and closes with worries about what is going to go into the next issue. Making notations is her constant job, for it is through her that news to the students is published and circulated. At staff meetings on Wednesdays, Ann transforms her notes into assignments ond leaves the COLLEGIAN in the capable hands of her staff mem- bers until the following Thursday. Opening up shop again in the Press Room, she finds t hat interviews have gone on, bits of information have been developed into features, news stories have been accurately reported, words have been counted, and typing done — yes, mi- raculously on time! The dummy is made up, printers consulted, proofing done, and another edition of the COLLEGIAN has reached the students. Ann Ivey Editor-in-Chief Marty Chernault Assistant Business Manager

Cail Cherry Editor-in-Chief Fredda Thompson Assistant Editor Publishing this year ' s ECHO was both a pleasure and a challenge. The biggest steps were made last year when the ECHO progressed from a rather trite chronicle of the year to a beautiful, new and collegiate view of G. C. In 1958, too, there are changes. A second color is back, but the traditional senior informals are gone. Although it was impossible to add a complete section on sports to the book, we did succeed in giving more space to athletics than ever before. The ECHO was made possible this year by advice from Mr. Price Coursey from Charlotte Engravers and Mr. Harrie Keck of Observer Printing, who spent scat- tered moments, entire afternoons, and a few evenings guiding us. Again Mr. Miller became a familiar figure at G. C, patiently waiting for people to show up, or not, for his pictures. Also we owe a special thanks to Smith Studio for photographing flu victims and making them look not quite so sick and for making a second trip to Greensboro for those who had been too ill the first time. In the 1958 ECHO we ' ve tried to give you the story of our year at G. C. We hope you enjoy it. he Echo 19 5 8 Mary Webster Smith Business Manager
