I park my baby', behind an elegant ex- ample of the famous car designer Sandra Ap- pelt, and watch the horrified doorman greet Mary Lou Gagen, trailed by her three sets of twins. ln the lounge l find the famed filibus- ter, John Bakelaar lknown politically as the Pentagon Pacernj conversing with Pat Ber- dinka, the famous designer of the ucurvalurew pencil, and J ack Ryder, her business manager. They are discussing the scandal rumored of Alice Vail, the U.S. ambassador to Switzer- land, who has, it is said, eloped with a moun- tain climber. They are soon joined by George Wetmore, chief arbitrator at the U.N., and William Sullivan of Sullivan Enterprises, Inc. l leave the lounge after greeting Barbara Blados, co-editor of Mad magazine, and Andy Ignotowicz, president of Kodak Co. By the swimming pool I find Marion Hulse, Welk's new champagne lady , Diane Powers, the nightclub blues singer, and John Madsen, 1965's answer to Presley, combining their tal- ents to the amusement of William Hanff, who now sings soprano with the Metropolitan Op- era. ln the pool I see Linda Thomas of Aqua- cade fame, Karen Wilson, the coach of Ameri- ca's only all-girl football team, Nate Goldin fyes, HE who has taken Hollywood by stormj , and Marge Hiddink who runs an exclusive boys' school. There are Ned Payne, AXP man- agerg Marianne Rinehart, nurse of the yearn, Anna Marie Hope, the movie starlet, and Eu- gene Moisa, owner of Orient Farms, lnc., all listening to their jovial host joke with Bob Howard, manager of the Harlem Globetrotters, Richard Breese, and Jack Skrezec, rival coaches of the Army and Navy football teams. I enter the bar, order one of Henry Car- lozzi's pizzas, fthose succulent delicacies which have captured the American appetitej 24 PROPHECY and glance at the TV set where Penny Coyle is pitching for the Brooklyn fwhoops, Los An- gelesl Dodgers. I am joined by Al Bondar- chuk, the card shark who challenges Maverick on Channel 3, and Art Nichols, the kiddies' idol, who rides shotgun for Wyatt Earp. We notice Tom Wysocki, who is an official mat- tress-tester for Beauty Sleep, accompanied by the glamorous Jane Lynch, TV's Private Sec- retary. Roger Willioms, controversial column- ist for the New York Times, enters and joins the crowd around Paul Wysocki of B.S., M.A., Ph.D. fame. In the cocktail lounge a fashion show, fea- turing Susan Hudson Originals modeled by Rita Fiore, is in session. Karen Cranford, the chemist who discovered nuclear nylon, Hilda Kaplan, head of the U.S. Department of In- ternal Revenue fdues, anyone?J and Diana Latham, famous anthropologist, are discuss- ing the gowns with Shirley Trower, famous cartoonist and creator of L'il Mooney, a char- acter based on the exploits of Dave Higbee, 25 the Air Force captain credited with being the first man to reach the moon. Doris Wilson, WINS disk jockey, Marian Warren of TV's Vallely's Ding Dong School and Peggy Kart, who teaches in dear old CHS come up to me and ask about the absentees. It seems Seth Webb couldn't leave his dia- mond mine in Africa and Wilbur Cook is making a movie My Harem for MGM. We notice Henry Vail, the Texas millionaire hand- ing out cigars to Wayne Raynor, editor of Hot Rodv magazine. The girls leave to con- gratulate Henry on his twins and I am left with nostalgic memories of the days when Harry's hooligans inhabited 307 and studied, scrimped, and screamed through four harried but happy years. Wishing you success, an old classmate P.S. By the way, Mr. H. G. Wilson has suc- cessfully retired, but wild horses couldn't drag him to this reunion. FY N iv gk V -fx. The Juniors elected the following officers: james Salmin- en. president: John Gloria. vice presidentg Carole Crathwohl, secretaryg Joseph Wells, treasurer. Their Student Council representa- tives were Athena Moskovey and James Sal- minen. As in the past two years. Mr. Deutsch- mann became their faithful class adviser. As we go to press, the season has not yet begun, but it is very probable that Dorrie Jackson. Jr. will be at shortstop. Nlartocchia behind the plate. Ship at second base. Wydur at first, Hudson, Wilson, and Howard in the field, and either Bravakos or Costello at third. Pitching for the Porters will most likely be Harry Breese, with Harris and Flatley as reserves.
