' 1 1 . ' J , ' . w ., I Prop ecy i ff lt is now the year of 1979. We have just returned from a class tour, on which we had the privilege of viewing the Wonders of the World. We had scraped a few dollars together in order to buy an old jet for our transportation. On our way, someone looked out a window and exclaimed, lt's a bird! Then someone else said, lt's a plane! But much to our disappointment it was only George. He was flyin' around on his latest invention, the Georgenik. Our first stop was at Disneyland, where five of the wonders were located. The first one we saw was a Jiminy Cricket knee-length sock knitter who was none other than Kenny Roberts. Another was the great Fantasy Land librarian, Beth Baker. The third was afamous stage- coach driver, who was Sharol Yekel, with that watchman of her's CN. SJ riding shotgun. Next we saw the nimble footed trick rider of the century, Norma Crawford. The last of the wonders located there was the scientist of the year, Dave Lawrence, who was sitting in the laboratory in Tomorrow Land trying to figure out how to make rocket fuel out of Alka-selzer. We hopped back into our jet and while on our way to the next stop we turned on our T.V. to watch Hit Parade and who did we see but ElljiJ S singing Why Don't They Under- stand ? He was taking Fats Domino's place for the evening. The program was interrupted by Leon Roberts, president of the Mickey Mouse Club, to give an important announcement concern- ing all the Squeakies. There were two commercials during the program. A eed, the dill pickle taster, told how sour Dilly's Dill Pickles were. The next was Larry Schmeiser, the new Betty Crocker, baking a satellite cookie. We had just enough time to watch the Lone Ranger shoot an outlaw with a Sterling 4Burtonl Silver Bullet before we had to land. We then landed at the Moore Airport at Austin, Texas. As we ascended from the plane we saw a little boy crying. lt was Bob Roberts. He had been fired from the Smoke Jumpers because he couldn't pronounce Geronimo. We had arrived just in time for the Tricycle Marathon Race. Janice Brobeck was winner on a Schwin model. Following the race was a figure skating exhibition given by Rex LaBrie. Then we visited a Cheerio factory and saw Daniel Roberts punching the holes in the Cheerios. In downtown Austin we saw Jack Winslow, new president of the Lonely Hearts' Club, having lunch with his secretary, iMiss7 Linda Winslow. He told us Melva Haskins, the sympathetic marriage counselor, was to join them later. On our way back to the plane, we stopped at a beauty salon and there was Bud Smith. He told us that he was Yul Brynner's hair stylist. Sherrill Hull was there getting her hair fixed and informed us that she was working in the Duane Rest Home, where she is a Comfort to all the patients. Liberace had just moved to Austin, so we stopped in to see him and who should we see but Li11da.D.uncan, lighting his candles. By then it was time to leave, so we returned and boarded our little jet. Nancy Moore, owner of the airport, came to bid us good-bye. As we returned home we felt that our trip had been a great success. We were pleased that the Seniors of '59 had turned out so well.
