M. We met at the Academy and after we got John Hand out of bed and pealed the bell a few times, we piled into the cars and were on our merry way. Those who took cars were Bob Armstrong, Peggy Terril, Art Perisho and Dink Fodge. Our first stop was at Banks where we got something to eat and stretched our legs. Then we continued our journey to Warm Lake. On the way to the lake the occupants of Fodge's car exercised themselves by pushing the car. I don't know why they did but I think they enjoyed it. 5 After we got to Warm Lake, most of the kids went for boat rides for an hour or two, then we came back and ate dinner which we enjoyed immensely, even the hot pickles. After dinner we had a short class meeting and then started back toward home another way. As we were on our way to Dead Wood Mine, somebody got the idea of putting logs across the road to stop the other cars., So Fodge's and Perisho's cars, which were in front, stopped and we dragged logs down from the side of the hill, put them across the road, took off, and set up more road blocks along the way. We stopped at Dead Wood Mine and started to climb up the side of a steep hill. It was easy going at first but as we neared the top, thegoing got a little hard--ask uBurpu, he knows! He started down twice on his hind pockets. Fisk and Farmer reached the top first and found a cable and pulled the rest of us up. We explored the place for a whileg then we went to the Cafe there and got pop- corn and stuff. Tex bought a chipmunk and turned it loose. Ckind-hearted chapl We started home and put some culverts in the road for another road block. We were going to Dead Wood Lake but found out that the road was closed so we couldn't go. We saw two deer and a lot of other interesting things. When we rot back to Greenleaf we honked the horns and rang the bell again, before we retired for the night. We all had a good time which we won't easily forget.
