SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Dear Mr. Armstrong: In the fifteen years that have passed since the class of '52 left this institution, they have taken up many different jobs and residences which might be of interest to you. Last week while on a business trip in Southern California I saw a number of signs advertising nFarmer's Baby Sittin' Union.u fAnd here Martha was always saying she didn't like kids.l ' I just heard by the grape vine that Dotty Reynolds is in charge of The Home for Feeble Minded at Blackfoot. She must have slipped acog somewhere. Lauren Nichols is teaching a class of uwar bridesn how to cook and sew. Too bad he didn't get to take Home Ec. Quiet Norman Russell is a nbarkeru for Barnum and Bailey Circus. I never thought it was in him. I see Art Perisho sometimes and it seems he is still sticking up for grade school kids. He's principal at Greenleaf Grade School. Don Lamm, Student Body President of '52 has turned pianist and is accompanying Audrey Comfort on her television program, nOnce in a Life Time.u It seems a new opera team has hit Broadway and, believe it or not, it's our old schoolmates, Joyce Hoover and Duane Fodge. Thelastl heard aboutBobHodson, Frances Farner and Peggy Terrell, they were all happily C71 married and doing well except Bob Hodson who is still living in a Vet House at George Fox College. He just can't seem to get through college. Arnold Lee is a deep sea diver. I always thought he would go offarsga and deep end someday. Guess why? Jo Anne Tuning has become a merimaid. Al Solts is singing with Spike Jones's Band. Quite a step up for him, don't you think? Dale T.fTexasl Tenny,RogerBurley and John Hand are still uhorsinn around. They own a big ranch down in Texas. I hear that Rich Fisk has been trying ever since his graduation to get the Cleveland Indians to sign him up for football. CThere is a pro football team in Cleveland isn't there?J They tell me that Corrine Emry, while at West Point, came through with flying colors and is now a pilot in the R. A. F. She always did like airplanes. Sincerely yours, A junior of '52 Z 71.19 1 f, Dink W. ,K 5,5 af 'if V ff W ww ' N' . M. We met at the Academy and after we got John Hand out of bed and pealed the bell a few times, we piled into the cars and were on our merry way. Those who took cars were Bob Armstrong, Peggy Terril, Art Perisho and Dink Fodge. Our first stop was at Banks where we got something to eat and stretched our legs. Then we continued our journey to Warm Lake. On the way to the lake the occupants of Fodge's car exercised themselves by pushing the car. I don't know why they did but I think they enjoyed it. 5 After we got to Warm Lake, most of the kids went for boat rides for an hour or two, then we came back and ate dinner which we enjoyed immensely, even the hot pickles. After dinner we had a short class meeting and then started back toward home another way. As we were on our way to Dead Wood Mine, somebody got the idea of putting logs across the road to stop the other cars., So Fodge's and Perisho's cars, which were in front, stopped and we dragged logs down from the side of the hill, put them across the road, took off, and set up more road blocks along the way. We stopped at Dead Wood Mine and started to climb up the side of a steep hill. It was easy going at first but as we neared the top, thegoing got a little hard--ask uBurpu, he knows! He started down twice on his hind pockets. Fisk and Farmer reached the top first and found a cable and pulled the rest of us up. We explored the place for a whileg then we went to the Cafe there and got pop- corn and stuff. Tex bought a chipmunk and turned it loose. Ckind-hearted chapl We started home and put some culverts in the road for another road block. We were going to Dead Wood Lake but found out that the road was closed so we couldn't go. We saw two deer and a lot of other interesting things. When we rot back to Greenleaf we honked the horns and rang the bell again, before we retired for the night. We all had a good time which we won't easily forget. Z Wk dun iors 12 1 X ' A x2 N. W X ?-53 wfx gg I' XT, NM NNT 'I ii x f v. Jw- 1. Mr. Armstrong's teams have won ten games while losing only four. Two of these were only lost by one point. To start this season sev- en returning lettermen and nineteen rook- ies donned the bulging pads and knee bri- tches which are essential to this sport. Coach Bob' utillized the split T and single wing formations, capitalizing on the skill of 4 hard running backs, Don Lamm, Dink Fodge, Bob Chess, Arnold Clem and the pitching arm of quarterback and Captain, Dick Fisk. Feature and high lights of all games was the excellent play executed by the Grizzlies big rough line. Bailey ROS Bob Wiucgtsgletilxn' ogeglxless Manaiesisbo, Arfx:Q Fodielfi?
