During her three years at Greenland, she has been a class spon- sor and annual staff advisor for two years, besides teaching her regular business classes. She has al- ways led and encourage her students, so for her help and guidance, we dedicate this years Pirate to Mrs. Connie Dixon and wish her well in the years to come. 3 O 2 rn 2 I E S new GHS building Teacher testing bill Kennedy assassination p Vietnam civil rights N Woodstock Buddy Holly killed in plane crash Jim Brady shot coca cola changing formula space shuttle explosion New GHS expansion Royals won World Series Bears won Superbowl XX Razorbacks won in Holiday Bowl Starvation in Ethopia Live Aid concert music videos William refrig Perry 4 These are only a few of the many parents and friends who work with our students for no pay and little recognition. Purvis Shiloh Signs Washington County Abstract 92 IN MEMORY MRS. JANE MOSS Mrs. Moss' death is a profound loss to education in general and to the BMEC in particular. She was a dedicated, conscientious professional who gave nearly thirty years of her life to the children of the northwest Arkansas area as both teacher and educational leader. Her service to the BMEC, first in the Regional Migrant Service Center, then at the Learning Center, was marked by her patient, caring leadership. Those fortunate enough to work closely with her found her good humor to be a welcome relief when bogged down in the fine points of special ed due process or in dealing with a difficult parent. Having known Mrs. Moss has been as wonderful a blessing as any of us could ask for. 93 AUTOGRAPHS 94 AUTOGRAPHS 95 THEN THAT WAS • • • NOW! THIS IS LAST COMMENTS At the beginning of the year our annual staff was disorganized. Frantically, we were searching for lost pictures, a theme, and trying so hard TO MEET DEADLINES. As the school year passed we got through it and put together our That Was Then This Is Now annual to the best of our abilities. Nobody's perfect and we are far from that, but I feel that this year has been the best ever. As you look back at this annual and recall all the changes that have happened in your life as well as Greenland High School's, you will know why we chose the theme that we did. At this time I would like you to recognize two wonderful people WITHOUT whom the annual would not have gone through. First, I would like to thank my best friend and co-editor, Cindy Ramey, for all the hard work and time she has spent on this annual. Next, Ms. Brown, who has spent money and countless hours working with us. I hope the future brings you excitement and delight. Remember the Best Of Times here at ole' Greenland High. -Judy Henbest Editor %
