Librarian Mrs. Lorraine Porter is yet another new face. Ms. Porter is the elementary and high school librarian. Don’t let those Betty Davis Eves fool you; Mrs. Porter is gentle in her manner and very helpful when anyone needs help in the library. Business Mrs. Lynn Stout, one of the very familiar faces at Greenland, teaches business classes — accounting, shorthand, typing and journalism. Mrs. Stout also sponsors the annual, the Pirate Times, Kid Stuff and the Pirate Country section in the weekly Observer. Mrs. Stout received the “Outstanding Teacher of the Year” award from the NHS chapter last year. Mrs. Stout graduated from Greenland and the U of A and has remained a resident for four years. This mother of two, we all agree, is quite a Lady. 22

H o m e Mrs. Candace Page spends her time teaching Family Living, Home Ec. I, Home Ec. II, and Teen Living. All of these classes are important to Greenland students because they deal with the reality of what a person must know for preparation of adult responsibility that follows us after graduation. It takes Someone Special to teach and help us understand the problems and frustrations along with the joys and triumphs we will all face someday. Abrakadabra is most likely Mr. Guy Boydstun’s favorite word. He’s, the science teacher of Greenland High School. His schedule goes from tenth grade Biology, ninth grade Science, Physics, Chemistry and Advanced Science. Mr. Boydstun also co- sponsors the Math Science Club and the 1983 Junior class. Mr. Boydstun is very active in the PTA, refereeing sports events and driving a school bus. This father of three three graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a BSE degree. We all believe Mr. Boydstun is quite indispensable. s c 1 e n c e 23
