The Pirate Log Staff is proud of Greenland High School. We hope that our school will continue to impart knowledge, a desire for progress and personal ambition. Knowledge will not be acquired without pains and application. It is troublesome and deep digging for pure waters; but when once you come to the spring, they rise up and meet you. Ambition is the spur that makes man strug- gle with destiny. It is heaven's own incen- tive to make purpose great and achievement greater. The moral law of the universe is progress. Every generation that passes idly over the earth without adding to that progress remains uninscribed upon the register of humanity, and the succeeding generation tramples its ashes as dust.
