This year the team won the regional in written and practical competition. They went on to Indian- apolis for the national competition. A seemingly minor, but intregral part, a spring in the carburetor, was left out dis- qualifying them and keeping them from finishing first nation- ally. An interesting point is that on the written test they finished first. Being three points lower than the largest post- secondary team, which wag made up of college and technical students. How- ever, in the semifinals match against Indian Hill and Walnut Hills, the team was defeated by a narrow margin. This year's team was coached by Miss Sharene Schmalz and the alternate player was Patti Yeung. The sky was blue as the band played. Any regrets? Some: like not being here to work on next year's staff and missing the friends you made.
