Senior Class Dedication mmf' llldafi it Mu Elaine Velvin Mrs. Elaine Velvin became both a faculty member and a Greenhill parent in the fall of 1982. During the past five years, she has made many contributions to the life of Greenhill school. As a lower school teacher, she has virtually rewritten the second grade social studies curriculum. Over the course of time, her efforts to replace out-dated materials evolved into a textbook, Discover Dallas: A Children 's Guide that is now used by DISD, other schools and can be found in local bookstores. Mrs. Velvin adds her energy to the Greenhill athletics program, as the sponsor for the cheerleaders. She goes the extra mile to make sure the Hornets have enthusiastic support at all the sporting events. She spends many hours tutoring upper school students. She isalwaysavailableasaconfidantandafriend.Manystudentsthink of her as llanother mother, as she gives generously of her time. lt is for her generosity, her sparkle, her devotion, and her positive influence that the Senior Class of 1987 dedicates the Cavalcade to her.
