Her monumental art work produced over some 20-plus years is an organic collage, multidimentional in both time and space: a dynamic work that, because of her adept hands, takes on a life of its own, as intended. It adorns no particular pediment nor does it stand in any hallway or hang on any wall. Yet, in scores of hearts, minds, and aspirations it is unmistakeably real - pentelic in its solidity and durability, one could say. The subject matter in this work of art is all of us past and present - faculty, students, parents, and those in the community who have been touched and shaped and molded by her: simultaneously, we occupy space as devoted observers and as dedicated, subject-participants. And she has done a The Greenhill librarians share the role of educators in full partnership with the Greenhill teachers. As active participants in Greenhill's educational endeavors, this specialized faculty interacts across all grade levels and all disciplines. It is not unusual to find a librarian assisting a first grader select a junior reader one moment, and the next moment assisting an Upper Schooler research a subject for a debate team. Indeed, the librarians and the audio-visual program play an integral part in Greenhill's striving for excellence in education. number on all of us, a Titus number at that. And as we followed her through the Propylaea all the way to Man with a Pipe our experience of the sublime and the beautiful ennobled us in a very extraordinary sense. And we love her for it. Our sensitivities concerning aesthetics - sharpened and illuminatedg our perception of human striving and the achievement of excellence - exercised and strengthenedg our appreciation for human creativity - an experience shared by many because we have known Muriel Seldin as friend, colleague, and teacher.
