Phillip G. Foote, Headmaster The Greenhill School Statement of Purposes speaks of our curriculum as an organic entity, constantly under revision. This is important to a school that encourages individual approaches to each student, subject to acceptable performances within a rigorous college preparatory program. As we enter the 80's we will continue to seek out the finest teachers, the finest all-around students and the finest methods in reaching our educational goals. These goals will continue to be: 15 emphasis placed on achieving proficiency in the processes of learning rather than learning by rote, Keeping at the heart of the curriculum the: 23 fundamental academic disciplines, the skills of reading, writing, speaking and mathematicsg 35 reaching out in various directions to satisfy and develop the intellectual, creative and physical needs of each student and to provide rich educational choices, 47 complementing this effort with extra curricular activities such as athletics, music, art and theater. For the 1980's Greenhill is committed to providing an environment of excellence in attaining each of these goals. 2 1

This .ye'ar's senior class has chosen to dedicate the 1198121982 Cavalcade to two of their class sponsors, Mr. James Y Edward Kilmer, Jr. and Ms. Suzanne Carol Roman. lp ,Mr. Skip Kilmer has been teaching at Greenhill since 1972. Now ,theihead of the Science Department, Mr. Kilmer hastaughtginthe Middle School fwhere he taught the senior class in sixth tgradeb as well as in the Upper School. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree at ,East Texas State University. Then, prior to coming to Greenhill, Mr. Kilmer taught as a Graduate Assistant at 'East Texas State University. The patience and un- derstanding Mr. Kilmer has is best visible with his interaction with his students in Physics classes Cas well as his other courses.j Ms. Sue', Roman has been at Greenhill since 1970. She has taught many History courses throughout the years in United States v History and Government. Ms. Roman obtained, her Bachelor's Degree at Michigan State University and her Master's Degree at Wayne State University. .Before coming to Dallas, she taught for five years at :Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights, Michigan., Her vivaciousness is evident in the classroom aswell as in her responsibility as the Twelfth Grade Coordinator. Mr. Kilmer and Ms. Roman are always willing to work concession stands at football games or helping a student after school. With these qualities, they have given our class needed guidance, support, and appreciative advice. Our classlfeels very fortunate to have these two special people as their teachers, sponsors, and friends.
