In Loving Memory . . . ,lock Prather We became juniors when Jock graduated, and he was therefore one of us, and he was the first of us to enter the earth. Hewas class president, yes, student council president, class favorite, and the greatest athlete of Greenhill,s history: and all of us have read his array of awards displayed in the foyer. But we remember him better for how funny he was, how hard and furious he played, how he argued and cajoled, how he loved to fight for peoplels rights - especially the rights of Short People Everywhere. Of friends, he was the best, the funniest, the most thoughtful, the most loyal, though you had to expect him to spend some time now and then chasing girls and working on Liehchen,l' his Porsche. None of us look forward more enthusiastically to our own lives than did Jock to his - and a life it would have been, filled with Jock's own kind of strength and gentleness and energy and sensitivity: a life that ended in sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the groundf, ln his sweet memory we dedicate this twenty-second edition of the Greenhill Ccwalcade.

In Loving Memory . . Cher l l mer Cheryl's death in mid-September, so soon after ,lock's, was a particular blow to us. We remember her smiling an impossible proportion of the time, her being enthusiastic and sympathetic in turn in all our eagernesses and our hurts. We remember how firm she was in the old study halls, how she tried to disguise the fact that her spelling wasn't all that great for an English teacher. How excited she was last year when her husband finished law school, when they found a new apartment, when she finished her own master's work at SMU. How seriously she took being a teacher, how she loved her students, how she built as we put together the open school, but how she loved an ice dayf, And now she is gone. Mostly we remember how beautiful she was, how bright, how happy about living and about the future. Nothing can have changed that in her. And to that beautiful memory of Cheryl we dedicate this twenty-second edition of the Greenhill Cavalcade.
