The school aims to keep the children's interest alive, actively doing actively thinking, actively learning self-discipline, actively becoming a member of the school group. A school contributes rnost to a child's future by giving him satisfaction in his school life, and by letting him share in determining what it shall be. This helps the student build a deep interest and desire to participate in the living prob- lems of his home and community. R. J. Green CONGRATULATIONS: What duties will be expected of the class of '5Z? Certainly not an attitude of indifference or cynicism, or fear. It has been your privilege to attend an American public school, planned and promoted by men like Thomas Jefferson and Horace Mann to produce a people who can manage their affairs intelli- gently. You graduates must have faith in the destiny of the American way of life. We, the faculty, believe that your tasks are mainly three fold. First you must find a place in our economy and earn a satisfactory living: second you must learn to get along with others in their home, their community, and their world: and third you must be able to do your part in governing and furthering the ideals of the democracy in which you will live.
