Youth is a time of growing, learning, discovering, and simply enjoying life. It is an exciting and adventurous time, but it can also be a lonely and disappointing time. The spirit of youth, a nebulous and far-reaching force, can be found every¬ where, in the classroom, at a pep rally, on the football field. It can quickly change tears to laughter, ridicule to respect, hate to love. It can be loud and vibrant, or quiet and pensive. It is a powerful, dy¬ namic force, yet it is a transient one, sel¬ dom found in adults. The spirit of youth is, however, a vital part of our lives, and should be retained as long as possible. But it is a quality which is difficult to define or capture. Words are inadequate to express the essence of this spirit. The 1965 Ever¬ green tries with pictures to capture as best it can the spirit of youth. Perhaps it has failed. Perhaps nothing can capture com¬ pletely the spirit of youth. It is hoped, however, that in these pages will be found some measure of the spirit of the Class of 1965.
