Dedication We, the Class of 1963, dedicate the 1963 EVERGREEN to a group who have given so much of themselves to us and who, in turn, have received little apprecia¬ tion from us. They have been with us, not only in our senior year, but always. The love and devotion of this group have helped us to turn dreams into reality. Our achievements, failures, sorrows, and joys were shared by them. Their guiding hand has given us mental, physical, and financial security. Our faith and hope were often renewed because of their interest and concern in us. It is through their living examples that we have learned kindness, generosity, and humbleness. Along with our teachers, members of this group have devoted an infinite amount of time imparting knowledge to us. Therefore, “from these roots,” we have grown into useful, meaning¬ ful members of society. We pause now to express our deep love, respect, and appreciation to them for all they have done, so that each one of us might become strong and sturdy like an “evergreen,” and do proudly dedicate the 1963 EVERGREEN to OUR PARENTS. Appreciation We, the Class of 1963, would like to give special tribute and thanks to two men, Mr. John A. Murphy and Mr. James J. O’Neil, Jr., who have been, we feel, a very close part of our class. Serving as our Guidance Counselor in our sophomore year, Mr. Murphy helped us with our problems so we would become better students. He gave freely of his time and knew each of us as individuals. Although Mr. Murphy served as Vice-Principal in our junior and senior years, he maintained his sincere interest in the Class of ’63, ever willing to help us in the same friendly manner. Many members of the Class of ’63 had Mr. O’Neil as a teacher of English and Social Studies. His classroom atmos¬ phere not only challenged us, but it was always enjoyable. Mr. O’Neil took time to know students who were not in his classes and with his wit and charm won their hearts. We take this opportunity to express our sincere APPRE¬ CIATION to Mr. Murphy and Mr. O’Neil who have helped us live three of the happiest years of our lives. JAMES J. O’NEIL, Jr. 6
