Also, he has been ac- tive in the Bowling Club and in intramural basketball. ELIZABETH CAROL ARNESEN Bettie Ambition - To be an airline hostess Hobby - Men Favorite Saying - Hi ya, babe If ever a member of a Senior Play cast played a part realistically, Bettie did as Lucille - a men- ace from the East -in our annual Senior Pla ! Y This, however, is only one of her many activities. Others include the Glee Club, Dramatic Club, the Forum, and several dance committees. Also, she served as a manager of intramural basketball during her Sophomore year and played intra- guii-fg basketball during her first two years at ELIZABETH ANN BABCOCK Betty Ambition e Teacher Hobby - Tunbridge Favorite Saying - You joker Betty's hobby is Tunbridge. CShe can talk for hours on that subject!J Betty played field hockey and softball. Among Betty's many activities have been the Glee Club 2,3,4g Dramatic Club 3,43 Forum 43 and Student Council 2. We all remember her as a cheerleader during her Sophomore and Junior years. Also, Betty ushered at graduation and was on numerous dance committees. ANN MARIE BAILEY Blondie Ambition - To graduate Hobby - Buck Favorite Saying A You don't know, do ya? Ann, a commercial student from Room 14, has participated in Bowling Club, Glee Club, and Do You Remember . A light haired lass, Ann is called Blondie by her friends. A certain person by the name of Buck seems to take up much of Ann's spare time. Ann states that her one am- bition is just to graduate. ELWIN RICHARD BAKER Bak Ambition - Truck driver Hobby - Shelburne Falls Favorite Saying - Pretty fair Most of Elwin's interests during his past three years have been connected with the auto shop. Even though he has been quite busy there, he found time to play intramural basketball during his Junior year. When glwin graduates, he has hopes of becoming a truck river. CONSTANCE ALEXANDRIA BANACH Connie Ambition - Become a millionaire Hobby - Roller and travel skating, collecting photographs Favorite Saying - For crying out loud, heck no. Connie has been so busy working at the Eastern Textile Company that she has not been able to take a part in very many extra-curricular subjects. She has found time to play intramural basketball during her Sophomore and Senior years and also to be an active member of the Emerald Art Committee this past year. Connie has also been quite busy collecting several albums of photo- graphs during her spare time.

HENRY DA?WIN ABBOTT tein Ambition - Work with trucks Hobby - truck driving Favorite Saying - Oh YA! Says who? Division A of the New Machine Shop has taken up most of Henry's time while he has been at G.H.S. At the present time, Henry hopes to work for some trucking concern after graduation. Aside from his interest in trucks, Henry's time is sometimes taken up with basket- ball, football, skating, baseball, and riding. DOROTHY ETHEL AIKEN Akey Ambition - Secretary Akey has received, as shorthand awards, the theory certificate, the 5 min. 60 certificate, the 5 min. 80 certificate, and the O.G.A. certificate. She has also received the following typewriting awards: 40 word bronze medal and the 50 word silver med- al. We are not surprised that Akey's ambition is to be a good secretary. Dorothy served on the sen- ior play ticket committee. KEITH FRANKLIN ALDEN llOIey!Y Ambition - Printer Hobby - Collecting stamps and Favorite Saying - Shmoolian banners. Oley has been Chairman of Home Room in his Senior year. He has been active on the Sympathy com- mittee and was appointed Exponent collector in his Senior year. JOHN FREDERICK ALEX Ambition - Join navy Hobby - Fishing John has made a name for himself as a class orator. His willingness to co-operate has made John a likeable fellow, whose skill showed itself in the Senior Play. He states that his hobby is To go fishing when I have the time. John's ambition is to join the navy, so a Bon Voyage and a happy landing. BARBARA HELEN ALLEN Barb Ambition - Go to Becker Hobby - Recorder-Gazette Favorite Saying - That's dumb Our class secretary has really been active during her years at G.H.S. She was a member of the Glee Club in her Sophomore year, served on several dance commit- tees, and participated in the Glee Club and the Bowling Club in her Senior year. She has also received the 5 minute, 60 certificate and the O.G.A. certificate in shorthand and was awarded the 40 word bronze medal in typewriting. Barb also played intramural basketball during her Sophomore year. EDWIN OWEN ALLEN Sonny Ambition - To go to college Hobby - Football Favorite Saying - Me too Sonny will be remembered mostly for his stellar play as halfback. Although out much of the time with injuries, he could be counted on to be in there fighting if it were at all possible. Sonny has played football, track, and intramural basketball all during high school. In his Junior year he was class tireasurer and served on the football dance and Junior dance committees.

PHILIP GORIZCN BARNES HP i .. Ambition - Girls Hobby - S. G Favorite Saying - No Phil is one of the members of the auto shop. Al- ways willing to lend a hand, Phil has even moved Mr. Watt's car. With a smile, he seems to take life in his stride. A certain S. G. seem to take up much of Phil's time. Phil should lead an exciting life, as he states that his ambition is girls. CATHERINE CLAIRE BARRETT Mert Ambition - To travel Hobby - Tuesday night club Mert is a good sport who can always be de- pended upon. Dramatics have taken up a good part of her time. Remember Mrs. Waughop in Meet Me in St. Louis ? Claire took an active part in Dramatic Club, as well as the ticket com- mittee for the football dance. Also, in her Sopho- omore year, she played intramural basketball. If you heard Oh no, not thatl , the odds were that Mert was close behind. THERESA EVELYN BARRY Terry Ambition - To be a nurse Hobby - Rollerskating Favorite Saying - How about that Being on several committees, Terry has done her part toward helping in these affairs. A member of the Dramatic Club during her Junior and Senior years, she has also been in the Glee Club and played intramural basketball. Much of her spare time is spent in roller- skating. As nursing is 'tTerry's chosen career, we wish her luck in this field. ANN BEAUMONT Beaver Ambition - Secretarial work Hobby - U. of M. Favorite Saying - Piffle Ann's interests in high school include the Exponent , softball, field hockey, and intra- mural basketball. Beaver has been active on dance committees and a member of the Dramatic Club. She has also been a member of the Glee Club and of the Costume committee for the Sen- ior Play. She was chairman of her homeroom in her Junior year. THERESA JOAN BERGERON Berg Favorite Saying - Dirty Work Afoot. I was drunk last night, dear mother . . . Yes, we'll never forget Theresa's great scene as Agnes in our Senior Play this year. Nor shall we forget her many other activities, which include the Glee Club, the Dra- matic Club, and the Club '50 dance committee. Theresa has also received the Theory Certificate, the 5 min. 60 Certificate, and the O.G.A. Certificate in shorthand and has been awarded the 40-word bronze medal in typewriting. Lastly, she also played intra- mural basketball in her Sophomore and Junior years. HELLEN BERRY Beast Hobby - Driving a car Hellen picked up the peculiar nickname of Beast , as she would say to someone You beast. Hellen's hobby is driving C?l a car. We can well understand the question mark! Hellen has played intramural basketball three years, intramural field hockey her Sophomore and Junior years, and field hockey three years. She was in the Glee Club one year, Exponent one year, and Dramatic Club two years. Besides these, Hellen has also been on the Sympathy committee, the football dance committee, and the yearbook committee.
