Going from beginners to intermediates cleared much of the confusion of the locker system, getting to class on time, and remembering all sorts of rules and regulations. We have acquired just enough confidence, just enough responsibility, and just enough experience, and, as the in-betweens we are neither in the valley nor on the mountaintop, but just enjoying a comfortable plateau. As eighth graders, we feel slightly more mature and sophisticated, yet always ready for fun, and willing to study hard when necessary. We have learned what our teachers expect from us and work to earn their admiration and respect, but this doesn't mean that we sit home every time a sock hop rolls around. There are many ages and stages ahead to look forward to, but our eighth year of school will remain in all our minds and hearts as a very productive and stimulating year. 23
