SECOND ROW: George Mathewson, Gil Reed, Phil Hartman, Rich Sinders, Charles Yoder, Ron Dudeck, David Kring, Larry Kring, Jim Reinebold, Coach. 39 Our Coach Our coach, James Reinebold, is in his second year of coaching at Greene. He attended Woodrow Wilson lligh School and graduated from Mississippi College. This past season Coach Reinebold's base- ball team had the distinction of being the firstcoun- ty championship team at Greene in eighteen years. Although his basketball team did not have an out- standing record, they finished third in the county and lost several close games which could have gone either way. Coach Reinebold states that, due to the loss of six seniors. all positions are open on next yea1's basketball team. On the other hand the baseball teamloses only two veterans. If they can develop more pitching depth and hit more consistently he believesthey can continue their winning ways. We have enjoyed working with Mr. Reinebold these past two years and we wish the best of luck to him and his teams in the future. Student Managers A good qualified manager is an asset both to the George Matthewson, Greene's varsity managers, team and to the coach. Carl Fitz and certainly are qualified. Graduation will terminate the four years service of senior Carl. George, who is Carl's right hand man, will take over the reins as head manager n ext year. Freshman Team In its second year of organization Greene's Freshmen showed definite signs of a promis- ing team in future years. Even though they won only three and lost seven, five of their losses were by five points or less. Although they were smaller in size than most of the opposition they played, the Frosh used a multiple defense and balanced scoring to offset their height dis- advantage. Had they gotten a few breaks at the right time, their record would have told a different story. SCOREBOARD WE THEY Madison 31 27 John Adams 22 36 New Carlisle 33 39 . 2.
