From a be- ginning of comparatively few members the organization has at the present time grown to 170 members. The members are somewhat scattered but nevertheless manage to meet once a year to pay homage to their Alma Mater and renew old acquaintances. The social life of the organization is expressed each year in the form of a banquet in honor of the Graduation Class. Arrangements are under way as we go to press for a big banquet this year. 13

T H E K E Y S T o N E History of the Greene-Dreher Vocational School HE first High School in Dreher township was organized in the Fall of 1901, with a two years' course. Its first principal was Grace Shaffer Perham, now Assistant County Superintendent. As a result the first graduating class appeared in 1903. At this time the course was lengthened to three years. The school con- tinued its routine with this method until 1916, when a vocational school was organized. The vocational school provided a Home Making course for the girls, and a course in Agriculture for the boys. Upon the establishment of the vocational school Greene and Drener townships combined. This action manifested a progressive step in educa- tion for our section of the county. As a result of the consolidation a greater number of pupils derive benefits of advanced education and can qualify themselves for colleges and higher institutions of learning. Each year the enrollment has increased until all the available space is being utilized. We feel confident as time rolls on, and new classes come and go, that the standard of the work increases even higher and the good work and reputation of our alma mater will be maintained. Our school with the co- operation of the community will become a vital part of the very life of the community, and the results are obvious. 12

T H E K E Y s T O N E Senior Class History EPTEMBER, 1917, the doors of G. D. V. S. fiung open to sixteen bash- ful, but energetic Freshmen. Of course the eyes of all upper class- men were cast upon us, but we stood firm and struggled hard. The faculty then consisted of Miss Waters, Miss Reynolds, Mr. Faux, and Mr. Mack, all of whom we owe much devotion for their time spent with us as Freshmen. In October we chose the following class officers: President .... ..... M AUDELL CARLTON V. President . . . ........ HELEN SIEG Secretary .. . . .... RUTH ROBINSON TTGILSMTG1' . . . ..... MINNIE GILPIN During our first year several of our number Were forced to leave the class for various reasons. Much to our delight in 1918 we welcomed a new member, Joy Rommel. September, 1918, only ten members returned to assume the duties of Sophomores. As our former president did not return we chose Helen Sieg as our chief official for the second year, with Dorothy Fowler as Vice- President. In 1919 Joy was forced to leave us, bringing our number down to eight, as others were forced to leave on account of sickness. 14
