Another WIC championship went down in G.HS. sports history as the court generals of Greencastle captured the coveted crown this year with a 7-1 conference record. This is the second time G.H.S. has taken home the con- ference crown. This year ' s varsity was composed of eleven seniors and one sophomore. The team featured balanced scoring and great teamwork. Although substantially smaller than most of their opponents the Cubs managed to out-hustle, out-shoot, and out-score fourteen of their rivals. Picked by sports writers to lose over half of their games, the Cubs showed these experts that it ' s not the size that counts but the desire and teamwork which this year ' s team had. One of the most exciting games of the season saw the G.H.S. courtmen come from behind to take a victory from arch rival Crawfordsville. Another game saw the G.H.S players out play the Ger- stmeyer Black Cats to come up with the victory that enabled them to capture the WIC. Although the Cubs will lose eleven members of the var- sity this year, next year looks promising with the mem bers of the conference winning B-team moving in.
