I0 ln- . . deck Our life in Greencastle-Antrim High School has been filled with emotions of every nature. moments of joy, and periods of disappointmentg but each now is glad he or she kept pushing on to prepare for something bigger in life. Class meetings will always live in our memories, crowding into Room 4, we made our president, Tom Shoop, work hard to maintain order and to accomplish the purpose for which the meeting had been called. These meetings were pure democracy in action! With our different subjects, we all find something interesting and helpful in our studies. Home Ee girls have been learning the most important basic steps in sewing and in preparing the foods which give a family the most vitamins and calories. Boys in Shop have a right to be proud of their cedar chests and gun racks, much patience is required waiting for a buddy to finish with the saw or lathe, but finally the boards are ready for polishing. The familiar question, 'LDO you know your shorthand? usually gets a negative answer, but when report cards are received, grades don't look too low. Those few classmates who study second year French sound as if they know a little more what they are talking about this year. Our last year in school has been filled with hard work and with activities and fun. Some of the highlights have been a trip to Franklin County Criminal Court and a tour through Franklin Farms. Class plays were a success in every wayg they, along with the Bazaar, have provided the money for our New York trip. Traveling by train and by subway gives each one a thrill on this three-day journey. As we approach the last class activities, we look forward to our final Assembly Program, the Prom given in our honor by the Juniors, and finally the long awaited finale. Commencement and Diplomas. One hundred seventeen of us find every moment that we are willing to give occupied in worthwhile pursuits. Our enthusiasm ascends from the basement through the second floor. Nearly every activity finds Juniors participatingf- mentally, physically, and socially. We enjoy our life at school. Some of us have to get up early because we find ourselves on buses at 7:15 A.M.g others in town are or should be getting up at this time. However, tardy students have been known to present such excuses as: The bell rang before I got heref' Detention Hall snares these late arrivals. Home rooms buzz with conversation. silenced only by Home Room teachers. Many of the classes this year introduce us to new horizons: theorems of geometry, laws of physics, characters in shorthand, pronunciations in French fsavez-le vous francais?l, typing, and driver education. Along with this we have our usual subjects and study halls. fDo we always study, though?J In addition to classes, we have many extra activities, the period from 2:30 to 3:15 is filled to capacity, and some activities extend after school. Class meetings are usually very exciting and interesting although sometimes confus- ing, especially when we all crowd into one class room. Red letter days of our junior year include: the arrival of class rings, a day's trip by bus to Washington, presentation of our class play, Terror at Black Oaksf' directed by Mr. Witmerg ushering at the play and commencement, working on our project selling the Blue Devil pens, and last but not least, the Junior-Senior Prom. Never before did we realize that so much material had to be collectedg that writing had to be done so accurately,-each letter in each person's name must be correctg that commas, semi-colons, colons, and aprostrophes had to be watched so carefully. ln spite of our efforts. we fear many errors will appear: we ask your forbearance. Hours of work go into the publication: finding captions that narrate, planning artistic pages. raising the money. and maybe worst of all, meeting the fatal dead- lines for material. School routine is completely disrupted when the photographers arriveg but so quickly and efficiently do they work that we soon see ourselves as they saw us! This gave our Alma Mater a profit of 8933. The cause was led by Richard Caver. with S122 in sales, followed by Glen Hess. Richard received a clock-radio for his work. and Glen received a camera outfit. These two boys and David Welch were presented also with identification bracelets. The records were kept by two juniorsfCarolvn Hafer and Sandra Bonebrake-and two seniors fjo Ann Rahauser and Robert Stenver. These four persons were assisted by their able advisor, Mr. Schenck.
