enior gfafifi I-0,0 ecg March 9, 1966 Dear Diary: Today I decided to take a much needed vacation from my thriving business as interior decora- tor, and go back to my dear old hometown of Greencastle to see some of my former classmates. Immediately, I secured plane reservations for the following day. March 10, 1966 Dear Diary: Imagine my surprise when I discovered my pilot to be Charlie Shank! He helped build the Greencastle Airport, so Robert B'rant, now President of the United States, gave him a special pilot's license. While talking to him, I discovered that Marian Sampson had secured the post as the President's secretary. March 11, 1966 Dear Diary: My trip was a pleasant one. On the same plane was Mrs. Thelma Kuhn, Strawberry, Orange, Mulberry, gay divorcee who has just Written a book on French verbs. As I was reading in the Greencastle Times, run by Arthur Superman Kennedy, who is now down to 105 pounds and still going strong, an article written by Dick Supe Snyder, the roving reporter, that Nellie Long had just divorced th'e King of Hubba Hubba for the thirteenth tim 2, I was shocked to look up and see Dr. Charles Barkdoll, President of Princeton University. While we we-re chatting the plane landed and I was forced to bid a sad adieu. Running down the ramp, I bumped into Guy Benedict and Bud Fitz who were leaving for New York to meet their brides, They haven't changed. One of the Zarger Taxi Cabs too: me into town where I immediately proceeded to the Betty Sollenberger Beauty Parlor for repairs. Charles Ebersole is now working for Betty and has originated a hair style of his own. While there, I saw Dan Maginnis, who came in to have his permanent touched up. Afterward, as I was going up the street to send a telegram home, I met the former Betty Lohman and Vera Grosh, still inseparable. Vera is now part-time manager of Newberry's 5 and 10 and Betty teaches music after her house work is done. La Rue Monn and Daris Snowberger were running down the street leading an amateur basketball team. They had time for only a brief Hello! When I arrived at the bus depot, now run by Dick Henry and Janet Talhelm Henry as a combination Dry-Cleaner, Bus Depot and What-Have-You , I found Ed Shindle reading comic books and paying scant heed to Charles Barnhart's brilliant sales talk on The Reasons Most People Work! After I had given Isabelle Rice :the telegraph operator! my message, I left for my hotel. Enroute, I ran into the Honorable Robert Gaddis. burgesl of Greencastle, who invited me to a little get-together he was having. I accepted. March 12, 1966 Dear Diary: This evening I attended the banquet at the Hotel Peck, run by William Peck, wealthy man- about-town, Attending were such celebrities as Frank Bittner, Esquire, noted chemist, Robert Fitz, famous Olympic star: Shirley Snyder, a second Florence Nightingale, poet laureate, Helen Smith, and ch'ampion shorthand writer, Helen Shimer. Our entertainment was furnished by the two Moron sisters, Jack Cooper Moron and Erma College Moron, accompanied by Ruby McFadden and her magic violin. The announcements were made by bellboy James Lesher. 'I March 13, 1966 Dear Diary: This morning was very beautiful so I decided to take a walk. Needing some refreshment, I went into the Bah Seller's Drug store to get a coke. There I saw the former Mabel Walter, Dot Brechbiel, and Helen Keller, with their three sons Qin their sailor suitsy, looking very much like chips off the old blocks. Just as I was leaving, Bob Elliott, proprietor of the Shady Grove General Store, came in. Outside, a large streamlined truck with Miller's Garbage Collection Service printed on it, caught my eye. This P. M. I visited my old Alma Mater and discovered that Libby Miller and Leona Parmer were two of the taskmasters there. After leaving the school, I attended the meeting of the Baby Sitters Society made up of Gladys Gelwicks, Almeta Hill, Doris Mowen, Betty Zeigler, Betty Ruth Snyder, Jane Snider, and Ruth Reeder. ' 14, 1966 lgga-:mDiary: I spent a lovely morning at the Hampton Farm where Gerald Warren was building a new barn. Carl has also employed Gail Starliper as his cook, and has started a brigade of milkmaids composed of Genevieve Hykes, Marie Hissong, Dorothy Shew and Ruby Zeger. I took my leave of my fair home town this afternoon. I was accompanied to the plane by the Reverend Lloyd QSonnyl Rowe who has just been ordained into the ministry. Leaving my friends was a sad farewell, but it is gratifying to know that all my classmates have taken a place for themselves in the world. To t Item 1. he teachers we bequeath many more angelic classes like ours, also our sincere thanks. Item 2. the Freshmen we bequeath our athletic ability to do with it as they please. Item 3. the Sophomores we bequeath the high place we hold in the hearts of all teachers. Item 4. the class of '47 we bequeath all dirty textbooks and wads of chewing gum on the bottoms of the desks. Item 5. all future French classes we bequeath Thelma Kuhn's knowledge of French. Item 6. the cheerleaders we bequeath some of Nellie Long's pep. Item 'l. all the unfortunates who have study hall in main room, we leave plenty of coats, mufflers and loves. item 8. Miss Martin, Miss Conrad, and Mrs. Toms a girls' team that wins some games. Item 9. Mr. Conrad congratulations on the winning teams he has coached in the past two years. Item 10. the following individuals we make these important bequests: Marion Sampson's ability to get To demerits to Ann Zeigler, Bill Peck's athletic ability to John Koons, Betty Lohman's ability to get through classes without studying to Lou Greenawaltg Whitey Barkdoll's ability to get along with girls to Andy Bingamang Ben Zarger's half track to Glenn Miller, Bob Fitz's curly hair to Sonny Holbert. We consider our successors too inferior to appreciate some of our prized possessions: therefore these relics are to be burned in the alley behind the school house at twelve o'clock on Class Night.
