This year the French Club took a trip to Quebec, Canada to see a French-type culture. The members cooked a French dinner and are now on their way to producing a French play for a language festival at Greenbrier East. Cavalier Gazette Staff publishes literary magazine The Cavalier Gazette Staff publishes news concerning our school and keeps students aware of important events. This year, the newspaper staff published a, literary magazine. In April the staff plans to go to Marshall University Journalism Workshop and to Beckley to see the Beckley Post-Herald produced. Chinese The Chinese Club, our newest organization, began a busy year by preparing and cooking Chinese food. The group intends to study the culture of China. The writing of a Chinese play is planned by the members. It will be per- formed at a language festival at Greenbrier East. David Hall. a senior, was one of twelve outstanding high -school musicians in the state selected to play the trumpet in the West Virginia All-State Band. West students Rhnea Hylton attended Leadership Camp last summer at YMCA Camp Horseshoe near Parsons. Rhnea was sponsored by Alpha Zeta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa., International Honorary Sorority for Women Educators. Representatives of our band to the High School Invitational .Clinic at West Virginia Institute of Technology were Evelyn Copen, Kathy Alvis, Vicki Underwood, Mary Beth Decker, Jackie Birchfield, and Debbie Ford.
