FoREwoR Il U Cl CI This year we have been chosen to gather together a record of 1930 at Greenbrier so that you may read and recollect. It has been said that A Year Book is on- ly a Memory Book. That, we hope, will be true of the 1930 BRIER PATCH-for we have tried to make it your Bnnax PATCH, your Memory Book, in every senseaof the word. We hope that you will be pleased with the 'result of our efforts. We are well aware that our product is not perfect, but we be- lieve that we have preserved between these pages the most significant features of the school year. As you look at the pictures, years from now, may links which bind you to your school-mates be forged anew.

I I I L DEDIICATIO Because he always does his job without whin- ing--because he always helps us'to do ours- because he works unceasingly for the welfare of Greenbrier and the cadets-BECAUSE HE IS OUR FRIEND-we dedicate this volume of RTI-IE BRIER PATCH SERGEANT c. c. COliIYERS,h U. s. A. It well may be said that the playful spirit of Wash-H ington Irving still lingers on in' the Hudson River region, enjoying the antics of Rip Van Winkle, Brom Bones, the Three Little Men, Ichabod Crane, and those other genial characters of his creation. It is our hope that the spirit of adventure may never die. Just as Rip and his goodwife live again as we read Irving's magic words, so may this book help you to re-live your days at Greenbrier. . -. 7.3. , -A ,,,-- - ,gli .,.,.g'-xwrmfjiiirihai L ssJhu...i..L....i-
