THE MOUNTAIN BREEZE BY THE JOURNALISM CLASS GREEN BANK HIGH SCHOOL Green Bank, West Virginia PRINCIPAL’S note GREEN BANK PUBLIC SCHOOLS v rr . Grrtn Bank. Wm Vir finit Senior Class 1957-58 The pages in this annual record but a few of your accomplishments during the past twelve years. We hope these records will serve both as a rememberance of the profitable things you have done and as a reminder of possibilities that you did not capitalize upon that would have been for your benefit. We progress only when we see things that need to be done and continue to do them. Some one has said, Show me a satisfied person and I will show you a worthless person. If I were to give but one statement of advice on behalf of the faculty of this school, your parents and all other s who have assisted you in your school work during the past twelve years, it would be Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Matthew 7:7. 2 Virgil B. Harris, Principal DEDICATION To Miss Minnie Parg, who has been, to us, not only a great teacher and wise counselor but a true friend, this volume is dedicated. 3 Mr. Mack Brooks OflW o( Mark M Broki County SuprrvnUfMSrat J. Grt— R nk 1. M Malle . Mwfanlso I. M. Kanr. Caw You are now approaching the end of one part of your educational career. In many ways the last year of high school is the most im- portant of all school years, for it provides a good chance to clarify your thinking about ideals and goals. This last year in high school is an excellent time to overcome personal deficiencies, build needed strengths, and get the most from the friendships and oppor- tunities your high school provides. Soon you will be leaving the protective atmosphere of Green Bank High School, and you must make important decisions as to jobs, future edu- cation, and the responsibilities of adult citizenship. The decisions you make will probably affect the rest of your life, for every adult is influenced by his answers to his youth- ful problems. It is the nature of society for new problems to arise constantly, and the best society can do is to become adept in solving problems. The purpose of your education is to test one idea against another idea, one method against another method, to inquire into and to examine until men can know the true from the false.
