CLASS HISTORY In l9MO, thirty three skeatlcal boys and UlPlS b g n their education at the Green Springs Villag School The pres nt Sen iors who have attended GHS all tw lve years are Ted Rutherford, Dixie Michael, Marilyn Garland, Dorls Lee, Pat D ewn,Fay Reindel, Tom Craig, Jon Drown, Bettie Gruver, Betty Hessick, Mardelle Rule, Bob Birdsall, and Bernard Humbert In 19h8 w entered our Freshman year of High School wlth a class of twenty eight Mr Miller was our class advls r, and those elected to lead us through the year were Bob Birdsall, President, Mardelle Rule, Vice Presldent, Dixle Michael, Secre tary, Pat Drown, Treasurer, Fr d QUdPltSh, Report r During this vear w vain d s1x new classm tes Chuck Willman,Ilelen Seiferm John May, Irene Donaldson, Nicholas Hudgin, and Rduand Bedehmm We began our Sophomore year quite well aquaint d with the ways of high school life Our class adviser was Mr Detterman Bob Sellers presided over the me tings with Bob Birdsall as h1s assistant Pat Drown kept not s in her little black book, Ber nard Humbert held the money sag and Msrdelle Fule was the report- Our class grew a little smaller with the loss of John May and Rolland B rl kamp As we nter d our Junior y ar, we all felt oultc confldent that we would someday have a high school oioloma Our adviser was Mrs Huffman We el cted Ton Craig to hold th floor at the meetings with Pat Drown taking the CHWIP when the presld nt was Ruth wymer kept her eye on the money and nardelle rule was re porter Joan Widman enter d the class at the oeglnnlng of the y ar George Beard, Jim Malone, H l n Selfert, Reg r Matson, Pat Curless, and Betty Day wltndr w we chose Hwho Wouldn't Be Crazyn as our play with sixteen memeers of the ela s participat ing We gave a banquet and prom ln honor of the Senlor Claas,, May 12, 1951, with the nVictorian Poomn as our theme In our Senior year, Mr How ll was our advls r BdeS llers was elected as our President and Bob Birdsall a h1s assistant Jerry niesel kept our minut s and B rnard Humbert took care of our finances Bob Miller was chos n as Report r We gained only one new classmate, Bob Miller This year we chos another light hearted comedy for our class play, called HLet Me Out of Here , which was presented November 20 The annual prom and oanquet was given in our honor by the Junlor Class on May 17 Dixie Michael was chosen as Valedlctorian and Pat Drown as Salutatorian Those inducted into the Natlonal Honor Soci ty were Dlxie Michael, Pat Drown, Bob Birdsall, and Bob Sellers On May ZS, our Baccalaureate services were held The sermon was delivered by Rev John Hoov of tn Evang llcal U B Chrch in Green Springs The l st thing to b recorded ln tho history of our class is the most imaortant On May 27, we w r finally graduated from Green Springs High School aft r twelve long yeans Lehr Fess, the Judge of the Court of Appe ls, Sixth Appellate d1StP1Ct, delivered the commencement address.
