lvlaking PFCJS ULlt of ROCKIES High school is a time when we begin to try new things because we might not havea chance when we graduate, we have all been rookies at one time or another. The Curious Savage, the senior class play, brought many rookies to the stage. Roger Nlorgan, Mike Schroeder, John Lucas, and Jennifer Walter, who were new to drama, spent days on end learning lines and what they meant to their own individual character. These four, though, were not left on their own, Their transformation into this new world of theater was eased with the understand- ing and experience offered by the other vetran actors like CeCi Stephens, who was instrumental in helping the rookies ad- just to the ways of the the- ater. It all began in late October when it was announced that auditions for the se- nior class play would be held. After a reading or two for lvlrs. Brock and Director Suzie Finnerty, there was nothing left to do for the seniors but to sit and wait. Two days after the audi- tion, lvlrs. Brock posted the names of the seniors who would be starring in tne play The Curious Savage , a classic comedy written by ,lOhh Patrich which is set ih the late 'l9ZlO'S at a private insane asylum. The play it- self deals with the duestion of who is really sane. lvlrs.Savage, awidow, was Resting curing a break, Nikki Price and Paul Cl'lSt discuss the senior play, 'ffl ClCJSSIlYlVi' played by CeCi SteDnenS, nel' sons and ClaLlgntel'S were played by John LUCaS lTitUSl, Troy Dettloff lSamUell, anCl Jennifer Wal- ter lLilV Bellel. Another factor which in- fluences seniors' decisions is expense. Just to apply to West Point cost SAO. An ap- plication for William and Mary was 530, while UVA, Tech and ODU were 520. It seemed some were willing to pay the extra money for wasted applications, rather than not have a chance to apply at all.
