The 4-H club promotes unity in the school and in the community. 4-H Club Pictured right are officers Calvin Smith, Cindy Young, Byron Caples, Corlissa Jones, Talicia Moore, Shadonna Jones, Shriva Morris, Bridgette Anderson, Stephanie Smith, and Der¬ rick Tyson. Under the direction of sponsors Mrs. Melanie Thibodeaux, and Ms. Ethel Holmes the 4-H club par¬ ticipated in numerous ac¬ tivities during the school year. They visited nursery school, nursing homes and gave food baskets and clothing to needy families. 64

The Elites One of the busiest clubs on campus this year was the Elites. The Elites (Elegant Ladies in Today’s Educational Society) is a service club that was organized in 1979 by Mrs. Barbara Bennett. The club provides many activities to develop leadership, scholarship, promote school spirit and encourage services to the school and community. Pictured left is the sponsor, Mrs. Barbara Bennett.
