Intricate routines, precision marching and a flair for the spec¬ tacular were always expected when the Flag Girls performed during half time and at other events. 1985-86 Flag Girls were Left to Right—Cindy Young, Tajuana Pipkins, Angela Combs, and Gwen Terry. Kneeling is Shriva Morris. Above: Albert Jackson is the Band Director. He is a graduate of Grambling State University and came to Green Oaks with a wide range of experience in teaching music and leading bands. Left: Leading the band for the 85-86 season were Drum Major Anthony Bell and Drum Majorettes Danielle Gullatt and LaTonja Barfield Marching Band

This year the band attended several festivals. They received several Excellent ratings in competition. They also participated in city and district Battle of the Bands. They ended the year with a trip to Florida. 1985-86 Section leaders were—Latasa Spearman, Angela Hascoe, Damon Davis, Robert Myers, Serrick Smith, Anthony Wilson, Roy Gipson and Frederick Ellis.
