The Egalitarians President Miller successfully guided the Egalitarians through the year. Mr. Leroy Wesley, Club sponsor, initiated the idea to establish an organization to pro¬ mote school spirit, scholarship and qualities of finer manhood. 78 A group of junior and senior male students with the motto “Asserting academic equality” came together each month to plan and carry out projects to promote school spirit, academic excellence and community service. With their sister organization, THE ELITES, they sponsored several projects during the year. Service projects included Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner to needy families in the community and quarterly recognition of students in each class for academic honors. 1985 EGALITARIANS Left to Right: John Lawson, Anthony Wilson, Herman Collins, Roy Gipson, Derrick Spears.
