Mr. Tom James, principal, has been an asset to the working staff of Giant Land for thirteen years. He has been more than produc¬ tive ensuring the staff the “Home of the Giants” is a comfortable “home away from home.” Giant Land is one of productivi¬ ty which is also one of Mr. James’ objectives. He stressed ad¬ ministrative and faculty coopera¬ tion as a team effort. So that “togetherness,” the Green Leaf Theme, is revealed. The Giants have progressed not only athletically, but academically as well under Mr. James’ ad¬ ministration. He attributes success to a staff who works together so that a task is successfully done. James asserts that his followers also function in leadership capacities. “Everybody must work jointly if a job is to be conquered.” When one sees the leader with his “stick” in his hand, it’s only symbolic of a burning torch sear¬ ching for a clearer and brighter way of facing a new tomorrow. Giants are proud of the principal for his many efforts in operating this beautiful school. Assistant Principals Assistant principals Huey J. Hunt and John Baldwin worked together to correlate student and teacher activities. Mr. Baldwin worked closely with the faculty, scheduling classes, making classroom visits to observe instructional activities, selecting textbooks and supplies, planning faculty in service programs and even serving as a substitute teacher. Mr. Hunt worked directly with the students. He coordinated the activities for clubs and organiza¬ tions, enforced the school discipline code and supervised athletic events during the year.
