1 IX The Cheerleaders learn new cheers, cheering techniques and pyramids while at¬ tending summer camp at Northwestern State University. At camp, they won the spirit stick and superior ratings. The Cheerleaders put in many hard long hours during the school year practicing sell¬ ing spirit tags and painting banners for the games. In addition they performed during pep rallies. Besides these responsibilities, the Cheerleaders sponsor a week long camp each June for elementary and middle school children. 1984-85 Cheering Squad pictured left are Felicia Shepard, Brenda Arkansas, Joycelyn Williams, Lisa McCarter, Jeanette Lee, Millette Burns, Thelma Hightower, Angela Jackson, and Lisa Tyler.
