Junior Cheerleaders The members of the junior cheerleading squad learn early many routines and yells. They per¬ form when the ninth grade football and basketball teams play their games. They also entertained the student body at pep rallies. Mrs. Barbara Bennett is the faculty ad¬ visor and trains the young ladies. Each year both squads hold a clinic for interested young ladies. In Formation Lisa McCarter, and Brenda Fields are the co-captains, and the other members are Joyce Taylor, Sharon Tyler, and Bridgette Newson. The squad poses in one of its favorite stunts. Learning Is Half The Fun The junior cheerleaders will tell you that learning the routines is hard work and requires dedication to become perfect, but it pays off.

Spirit In Giantland Other members of the varsity squad are Felecia Shepard, Daphne Fountain, Jeanette Lee, Shunda Rogers, and Joycelyn Williams. The sponsor is Barbara Jean Bennett. All Together Now The complete varsity squad joins in another routine. Throughout football and basket¬ ball seasons, the cheerleaders keep the teams and the crowd in high spirits with their yells. 99
