i Jazz Hot' 71: 5 f Spectrum is a jazz band of eighteen members all of whom are required to participate in at least one other music class. This year was one of rebuilding for this group. A majority of the members last year had been seniors leaving this year's band with thirteen ju- niors in the group for the first time. However, the members were very talented this year. They played for of Dimes, at both school and civic events and at a few jazz festivals. The group's costumes changed this year to a more classical look, each wearing a blazer and tie and different col- ored shirts for each group, giving them a new image. David Grier, Brad Dunkin, Leslie Radeki, and Laura Kim- berlin. The four members who au- ditioned to be in the All County Jazz band were accepted. This group meets twice a month and will perform in April. .., This Leslie to be which is accepted piece minor State Band, she was in Spectrum, Wind Ensemble, and Marching Band. of their own. However, The Green Mountain Marching Rams do not compete against other bands!! As Wayne Iiams says, Rather the Marching Rams compete against themselves. Just as important as group musi- cianship is appearance and the way they han- dle themselves. Members learn of life and push themselves to reach higher and higher goals through the experience they get from the middle of August, when practice starts to the beginning of November when they have the State Competition and championships. Every year our marching band gets better. This year they did it once again. When at CBA State Championships, they received third place. The highest placement ever for GM Marching Rams or any school in the Jefferson County District. The flag team struts their stuff in front of the school.
