L . X, Marching The Way To Victory Some people might think that Marching Band just performs at football games, half time and the parade for homecoming, and once a year at state. That all they have to do is show up and play. Howev- er this is not the case. Dedication and a lot of time go into making our marching band the special group that it is. Before the mem- bers even get to group practice they have to spend time at home learning the music individually. They are required to be at every practice and every performance, on time. One person missing could mess up the organization and syn- chronization of the group. A member is expected to put in l00'Z1 effort at all times. Other than competing at our athletic teams' compeitions, they also compete at quite a few . . . The marching band's music. ,. Vw-asvlwt :vit Q fi Ti ri ,344-gi , . . WW 5215!-. Es.. of their own. However, The Green Mountain Marching Rams do not compete against other bands!! As Wayne Iiams says, Rather the Marching Rams compete against themselves. Just as important as group musi- cianship is appearance and the way they han- dle themselves. Members learn of life and push themselves to reach higher and higher goals through the experience they get from the middle of August, when practice starts to the beginning of November when they have the State Competition and championships. Every year our marching band gets better. This year they did it once again. When at CBA State Championships, they received third place.
