On June 8, 1985 just outside of Twin Falls, Idaho, Tammy Bor- man, Class of '84, was killed in a car crash. Tammy had just fin- ished final tests for her freshman year at Northwest Nayarene College. While at Green Moun- tain, Tammy served for four years on the Green Mountain Rambling staff. Her senior year, she was the Editor in Chief and had primary responsibility for completing the book. Tammy was active in several other activi- ties including drama, soccer, cross country, and she was a sig- nificant contributor to the maga- zine. We, on the Yearbook staff, felt a special connection to Tammy because we knew her for so many years and so well. She was special. She had that ability, when things were at their most stressed to reach down for more energy and enthusiasm and share it with all of us. Tammy was one of the most open and genuinely kind, young people we have ever been privileged to work with. She listened, she cared and she un- derstood. Everyone on the Year- book staff loved her because she was totally generous with her time and her self. We miss T ammy very much. We loved her then and we love the memory of her now. He was 5 foot 4 inches tall, had short brown hair, and blue eyes. He had a sister, Hei- di, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hil- ton Silvey. On July 19, 1985, while rock climbing with his sister and her boyfriend, an equipment failure caused both Pat and Bob Basker- ville to fall 300 feet to their deaths. Pat was an active student who was involved with Latin Club. and TN 4 mt .213-.,:, X i. International Club. As a sopho- more, Pat joined the Yearbook staff for writing experience. He went skiing often and was on a soc- cer team. Pat enjoyed a 4.0 grade point average while taking some very hard classes. ln his short life, Pat touched many people who will remember him. Those who were on the 1984-85 Ramblings staff have fond memories of him which will not be forgotten. Pat. at times 1 feel so lonely without you it hurts. At those times 1 look back and see we had nine years to live and know each other. And l feel privileged to have spent that time with you. Then l think that we could have. and even should have had so much more, and seeing this l begin to feel and see the magnitude of our loss. For four months I tried not to remember you but that was a mistake, for denying those memories would be denying lever knew you. So l came to a conclusion. l have to accept the memories. lt hurts sometimes, yet the pain of your absence reminds me ofthe many happy things we did. l miss you more than words can describe. but that won't bring you back. and knowing that l must go on with my life, the richer for knowing you. In Loving Memory, your best friend Scott Spendlove '87
